Lesson Type: Freestyle, Skating Skills, Showcase, Choreography, Pairs

Qualifications: Triple USFS Gold Medalist- Skating Skills, Freestyle and Pairs

Experience: Megan has over 10 years of coaching experience with the Chelsea Figure Skating Club. In that time, she has coached several skaters to gold medal tests in freestyle and skating skills. She has had skaters earn Regional medals, compete at the Midwest Sectional Championships, and choreographed for National level skaters. She has coached 15 National Showcase Champions, and finds being involved in growing this area of skating within US Figure Skating very rewarding. She enjoys starting with skaters in basic skills and later working with them to land their first, second or third triple jumps!

Background: She started skating at the age of 6 and quickly developed a passion for the sport. She later became a Michigan High School State Champion, EGL Regional Champion, Pacific Coast Sectional Champion, and a 2-time Junior National Competitor in singles, 3-time National competitor in pairs, and a 3-time National Medalist at the Collegiate Synchronized Skating Championships. She was the President of the U of M Skating Team for 2 years where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Science. Then she went on to get a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from UCLA.

She enjoys working with each individual to achieve the goals set by the skater, as well as the creative process of creating programs that fully highlight the skater's strengths. She believes training can teach a lot of life lessons that can be used outside of the rink, and that the journey should be fun and rewarding!

$60 an hour

Amy has been coaching at the Coliseum Figure Skating Club for 13 years and spent several years as a synchronized skater herself. She is certified with U.S. Figure Skating and has the credentials to take kids to basic skills competitions, as well as USFS non-qualifying competitions and test sessions. She is confident and up-to-date with coaching skaters from all levels of basic skills up through the Juvenile level. She is a strong believer that honest hard work can also be lots of fun!

$50 an hour

Lesson Types: Freestyle, Skating Skills, Showcase, Solo Dance 

Qualifications: Quadruple U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist in skating skills, singles, solo pattern dance, and solo free dance 

Amelia has 9 years of private lesson coaching experience, starting as a junior coach at the Chelsea Figure Skating Club in her freshman year of high school before joining the professional staff when she started college. She is a U.S. Figure Skating Certified coach, and her students have passed U.S. Figure Skating tests, competed at numerous local competitions, and qualified for National Showcase. 

As a skater, Amelia was a National Qualifying series competitor at the senior level, EGL Regional competitor, Michigan High School State, Midwestern Sectional Synchronized Skating, and National Showcase medalist, and U.S. Collegiate Invitational Champion representing the University of Michigan. During her time on the U of M Figure Skating team, she also helped the team qualify for the National Intercollegiate Final and served as President. Her experiences as a skater, team president, and coach have taught her that working towards individual goals in a supportive environment not only leads to success on the ice, but also develops confidence, accountability, work ethic and friendships that extend beyond the rink. She graduated with a B.S. in Movement Science from the University of Michigan in 2024 and is currently in her final semester of the Master of Social Work program at U of M. After graduation, Amelia looks forward to continuing to coach at the Chelsea Figure Skating Club and hopes to also work as a social worker supporting neurodivergent children and their families. 

$50 an hour

Genevieve has been skating for over 10 years with training in Showcase, Solo Ice Dance, Freestyle and Synchronized Skating as well as many years of coaching experience with skaters of all ages in multiple disciplines. She is a USFS Gold Medalist and a two-time National Showcase medalist. She currently competes with the University of Michigan Figure Skating Team where she competed in the 2025 and 2026 National Intercollegiate Finals.

$40 an hour

Qualifications: Double Gold Medalist in Skating Skills and Singles

Lesson Types: skating skills and freestyle

Anya has been skating since 2009, coaching learn to skate for over 5 years. Anya is a three time UGL Regionals competitor, a two time High School National Final medalist, a two time Intercollegiate National Final competitor with University of Michigan Figure Skating Club, and a US Adult Figure Skating National medalist. She believes skating should be both fun and challenging, an endeavor that can teach perseverance and tenacity without sacrificing the love of the sport.

$44 an hour 

Qualifications: Double Gold Medalist in Skating Skills and Singles

Lesson Types: skating skill and freestyle

Emma has been skating for over 19 years and has been coaching learn to skate since 2022. She is a five-time Upper Great Lakes Regional competitor, a two-time National Qualifying Series competitor, and a two-time Midwestern Sectional Final competitor at the senior level. Emma competed for the University of Michigan, and is a senior women’s intercollegiate national silver medalist. She earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University, where she is also a current Ph.D. student, with interests in biomechanics and wearable sensors. She believes skating can be a lifelong pursuit that builds the resilience to pursue goals both on and off the ice.
